Enjoy a beautiful traditional Japanese townhouse in Funaoka Mt. area, known as the Jacquard manufacturer's quarter.
Shion-an is located at only 50 meters from Funaoka Onsen, a very popular public bath among the people of Kyoto, built in 1923 during the Taisho Period.
At only 100 mt from the house you can find the entrance to Funaoka-yama Park and its ancient Shrine Kenkun-jinja, and a 15 min walking distance from Shion-an takes you to the famous Daitokuji Temple and Imamiya Shrine.
Our guest will rent a whole house that can accomodate up to 10 people. There is a twin-bedded room and 8 spare futon (Japanese mattress) to be displayed at the 2 Japanese rooms.
Shion-an has a beautiful Japanese garden with an old stone lantern.

HOW TO GO TO SHION-AN:
＞＞＞From JR Kyoto Station By Subway:
Take the Line Karasuma (K11) up north to Kitaoji Sta. (K04).
From Kitaoji bus terminal, take any of buses n. 206,205,204 and get off at Kenkun-jinja-mae.
From the bus stop walk east to find Funaoka Higashi-dori Street and turn left.
Go south along Funaoka Higashi-dori St. on the left side till find the convenience store Lawson located in the corner with Kuramaguchi-dori St.
10 meters before reaching the convenience store, you will find at the opposite side of the street a little road with a garage on the corner.
Go west on the little road and you will find Shion-an on the right side.
From Kyoto Station take bus n. 206 up north and get off at Senbon-Kuramaguchi bus stop.
From the corner of Senbon St. and Kuramagushi St. walk east about 10 min on Kuramaguchi till find Funaoka Onsen (public bath), it has an old big stone wall.
There is a parking lot in front of the Onsen. Go to the little road behind the parking lot and you will find Shion-an on your left.
It takes about 20minutes from JR Kyoto Station.
